Tonight I went to the Frank Lloyd Wright’s Darwin D. Martin House to attend a panel discussion on how local arts organizations can work with tourism promotions agencies. The discussion was hosted by Arts Services Initiative of Buffalo. The prevailing theme for non-profits…they have to take marketing and promotion seriously. The more the tourism promotions agencies know about an organization (and their current events), the better off it will serve them. TPAs are constantly looking for new story lines and content. There are many missed opportunities because of lack of execution or follow-through.
